I am jumping in. Jumping in the deep in that is. I’m starting a blog…
I am the kind of person who needs to know about things, do my research. I am also the kind of person who does not want to start something flakey. I think I have learnt a few things… I believe I am ready to commit and not do something half baked… So here we go!
____
Me? Anna. My chosen career; a materials scientist.
N.B. materials; ceramics, polymers, metals…
As a matter of course with my work, I needed to know a little about Intellectual Property (IP). First working in industry, and then moving to the University of Sydney. Both were exciting and different as in industry there is more in-house use/commercialisation, and at a University it is more of getting others to turn ideas into commercial reality (generally that is).
Founding Patent Sense over three years ago was a natural progression for me as I love seeing people learn about, embrace and be passionate (and strategic) about the work they do and the Intellectual Property they have.
Trademarks are probably the most often enquired topic in my business. Being a Registered Trade Marks Attorney, has allowed me to give sound advice to clients, successfully registering their brand quickly and accurately letting them to do what they do best – run their business.
I hope to share in my coming blogs some helpful tips, useful facts, hot news and current affairs and a few war stories about Intellectual Property and commercialisation.
Let the journey begin.
Great start Anna!
Material science to IP is a windy road for sure. IP is a big deal these days, I look forward to your future posts.
